Installation
Easy To Assemble and Install Requires No Special Tools.
(Illustrated Step-By-Step Instructions Packaged With Each Column)
STEP 1: (All Columns) Measure required length. Using a saw, cut column sections slightly longer for a snug fit. Be sure to wear Safety Glasses.

STEP 2: (Round Columns Only - For 6", 8", 10", & 12' Diameter Columns)
Join sections together, small hooks curling into large hooks, except final stave. Slide end of final section (stave) into place by tapping gently with rubber mallet.

(For 15", 18", 24", and 30" Diameter Round Columns Only) Slide end of one stave into other stave from the end (small hook into large hook) and gently tap into place with a rubber mallet. Slide and tap the remaining staves into place following the same procedure, until all sections are joined and locked together.

STEP 2A: (Square Columns Only)
Tap corner sections with heel of hand until sections snap and lock together.

STEP 2B: (Panel Columns Only)
Fit four quarter sections together, tongue into groove and tap with heel of hand until sections snap and lock together. Locate, drill, and attach Trim Panels to quarter sections. Refer to Assembly Instructions packaged with column for exact Trim Panel mounting positions.

STEP 3: (All Columns) Slide base and cap onto column. Set column in place and plumb with level, then remove props or jack.

STEP 4: (All Columns) Secure column in place at top and bottom of the column, according to standard construction practices. Use of L shaped brackets and fasteners suitable for the specific project is one method. CHECK APPLICABLE STATE, LOCAL, AND FEDERAL BUILDING CODES FOR SPECIFIC INSTALLATION AND FASTENING REQUIREMENTS APPLICABLE TO THE PROJECT. Refer to "STEP 4A" below for columns with Scamozzi or Corinthian Caps.
STEP 4A: (Round Columns with Scamozzi or Corinthian Caps)
Drill through top portion of cap, at an angle, and secure column with screws to the upper structure.|

STEP 5: (For Columns with Standard, Doric or Charleston Caps) Locate cap in place at top of column by drilling two holes opposite each other through the cap and into the column. Secure cap in place with screws or rivets.

(Optional) Wrap-Around Columns
Wrap-Around Columns can be fitted around existing columns, posts, or special structural members. Round Wrap-Around Columns are non-load bearing. A special stave with a short-er modified hook on one side is interlocked in place by tapping with heels of both hands. Square or Panel Wrap-Around Columns utilize standard sections, and can be load-bearing. A wrap-around cap and base is furnished for the Round, Square, and Panel column.
